About Katherine

Katherine, owner of Manorbier Accommodation in West Wales

Manorbier self catering accommodation reflects my desire for guests to feel they can relax, unwind and enjoy this unique cosy self catering accommodation, which is situated in the lovely Pembrokeshire coastal village of Manorbier.

Katherine was a senior nurse in various London Hospitals , before  going to do a degree in Land Management and agriculture, and working on the UK’s first organic farm.  This led her to working in Zimbabwe for the government wildlife vets, and then to India where she worked in a safari camp taking tourists into a National Park to view Tigers and other wildlife species.

As a direct result of her degree plus working abroad she became interested in sustainability, ecology and encouraging biodiversity.  On returning to the UK she moved to Pembrokeshire in 1996 in North Pembrokeshire, and then moved to Manorbier in South Pembrokeshire in 2002. She opened her house Awelon for bed and breakfast from 2011 up until 2019, and installed solar voltaic and solar thermal panels and started her journey of creating  a refreshing alternative to traditional accommodation- where sustainability meets comfort by the sea.
